This week, we ended out summer “hiatus” with filming a new episode of “Eat OUT” at Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe . This was my first time coming here and I was certainly impressed. Taziki’s is a nation wide chain but they are all independently owned and operated.
The place has an open layout, the food prep area and kitchen area are in plain site. As soon as you walk in, the staff is eager to great you. Everyone was pleasant and friendly. The manager, Daris, checked on us a few times to make sure we were happy with our meal. He made his rounds to all of the patrons, he took the time to talk to us about our selections and about what they would be adding to the menu soon. There is an outside eating area and a patio on the side, both are dog friendly. The weather was touchy this day with on and off downpours so we ate inside.
The menu is loaded with healthy and delicious options. It was difficult for me to pick, luckily I had Michelle from Intensity Academy Hot Sauces with me to help navigate. We started with orders of hummus and pimento cheese dips. These appetizers are to die for Seriously, I never had hummus that tasted this good in my life. Also, I never had pimento cheese before and after falling in love with this dish, I have to question my choices in life.
For my main course, I ordered the Mediterranean salad with Salmon. This dish was unbelievable. Everything was fresh, since they get daily deliveries from local vendors, nothing was frozen. The salmon was silky smooth and had a natural sweetness to it. Everything was prepared and served to perfection.
For an extra bonus, since I couldn’t resist, I ordered a pimento grilled cheese. I only tasted it there and brought the rest home for Jen, since she was at work. This grilled cheese sandwich is what dreams are made of.
This place is now on my radar and I will be going here often. If you are looking for a healthy alternative place to go for lunch, then you need to check them out.
